Emotional Freedom Technique, otherwise known as EFT Tapping, is a highly effective self help tool which can be used to release mental, physical and emotional issues.
EFT Tapping was recently featured on the BBC TV news after doctors in the Midlands piloted tests to be carried out on it’s effectiveness. Of 36 patients suffering from stress, anxiety and depression, all but one were relieved of their issues after using this therapy for just a very short period of time.
The outcome came as no surprise to me as I’ve been successfully using EFT Tapping with my clients since early in 2006, however I’m delighted to hear that the NHS are now showing an interest in offering it to patients instead of drugs, which merely mask the symptoms without addressing the underlying cause.
EFT Tapping is derived from the ancient Chinese healing method of acupuncture, which works by balancing the invisible energy lines, or meridians, which flow through the body. However, unlike acupuncture, EFT Tapping is a self help tool which is easily learned so anyone can use it on themselves. It involves stimulating certain points on the face and upper body by tapping with the fingertips, while focusing on the unwanted emotion.
The physical tapping causes electromagnetic signals to pass through the connective tissue to the parts of the brain related to emotions, known as the amygdalae. Delta brainwaves are increased, the unwanted emotions are decreased and eventually they are completely released, usually within a very short space of time and sometimes within only one session.
As well as mental and emotional issues, EFT Tapping can be used to heal physical ailments and disorders which have been brought on by stress and other negative emotions. Blood pressure can quickly be normalised, aches and pains relieved, and there have been many cases reported where people have healed themselves from illnesses considered to be incurable, such as Multiple Sclerosis and Cancer.
